Firebug 1.5 Updates with New Features, Still a Web Developer’s Dream [Downloads]

Firefox only: If you’re a web developer, there’s one Firefox extension that you should without question be using, and that’s Firebug. The extensive web development toolbox just updated to version 1.5, bringing with it several great new features and fixes.

Among all the numerous bug fixes, the new release is also packed with a ton of new features. (Rather than go into them all here, just head to the release notes.) If you do any work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, code optimization, speed optimization, or virtually anything else to do with the front end of web sites, Firebug is a must-have extension. Even if you’re not doing heavy web design and development, the extension still comes in handy for basic scripting, like writing Greasemonkey scripts, Stylish scripts, and the like.

I briefly mentioned the new Firebug in yesterday’s remainders, but it’s such a great tool that it deserves a separate mention. (I don’t know how I could ever have built MixTape.me or put together any of my other web development fiddlings without it.)

Firebug is a free download, works wherever Firefox does. If you’ve used Firebug to build something great, or just to make your day-to-day work that much easier, let’s hear about it in the comments.
